On February 9th, Lunar New Year’s Eve, Mr. Ning Xuchu, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Guangxi University, had a New Year’s Eve dinner with the students who stayed on campus to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Loong.
At the Cui Yuan cafeteria, Mr. Ning Xuchu extended New Year greetings and blessings on behalf of the universityl to the students staying on campus for the Lunar New Year. He gave out red envelopes, red paper written “福” (fortune), distributed “福袋,” (lucky bags) and joined the students in having a New Year’s Eve dinner, making dumplings, chatting about family, and discussing their self-development.
In 2024, it is the fourth Spring Festival that Tang, a graduate student from the School of Agriculture, has spent at GXU. From staying on campus during his undergraduate years for experiments to staying on campus as a graduate student for field trips, every Spring Festival spent at the university has left a deep impression on him. He said, “Writing couplets, making dumplings, having a reunion dinner, watching the Spring Festival Gala... all these make us feel that staying on campus is as festive and warm as being at home. We sincerely appreciate the care from GXU. I wish all classmates and teachers every success and all the best in everything they do!”
To ensure that students staying on campus have a warm and joyful Spring Festival, the university has carefully prepared a sumptuous New Year’s Eve dinner and organized activities such as writing “福” characters and couplets to welcome the Spring Festival. At the same time, students are gathered to watch the live broadcast of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala to celebrate the Chinese New Year together.
